About me, and your children's art education...Welcome to my Art Website where you can be informed about all the exciting things that go on in our arts school and art room.
I am Mrs. Annie Shrawder, and I teach visual art to grades k,2,4. I teach elementary students the fundamentals of art, design, and craft in order to help them ask questions and form ideas as well as opinions about the world. We investigate global art and craft from different parts of the world such as Japan and Haiti. I am thankful our school is located in the heart of Allentown so close to the Allentown Art Museum, for student field trip opportunities. The art classes I teach are infused with art history. I often collaborate with other teachers to merge other subjects such as science, language arts, and the other arts disciplines together for a cohesive, reinforced arts education. I am very passionate about what our school staff members do to enrich our students at the arts academy elementary charter school. I attended Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and have my Bachelor of Fine Art with concentrations in photography and painting. After graduation, I spent years working in the textile and invitation design industry before enrolling at Kutztown University in the Art Education Masters program. I am still working to obtain my masters degree, and have my K-12 art teaching certification. Thank you for visiting this page, and be sure to check the blog on this page because once a month I upload student artwork, and a description of what we've been working on in visual art class! |
